You will be Ok if the helmet liner doesn't disintegrate in the wash. If it does disintegrate that means you went too long without washing it. '

That's why I got the do-rag. Besides helping keep my liner cleaner, added benefit it seems to add just a little cushioning. >'Kat

I usually make it a habit to throw the liner in a front load washing machine along with my mesh textile jacket at least once a month most of the year and every week or two in the dog days of summer. You may wan't to consider putting all the liner pieces in a wash bag designed to protect delecate items when you put the liner parts in the wash.
The jacket and helmet liner usually only take a few hours to air dry on a line or plastic coat hanger or mesh rack.
A spare liner is not a bad idea either.

So a couple of questions.
Why can't I get my jacket/pants dry-cleaned? (label says not to) And why a front load washer? Will my top loader not work? What about delicate or even hand-wash cycles, with Woolite Dark? And the armor removed?
'groovy, how'd your liner come out?

Oops, I meant how'd it come out from the wash? But sounds like it didn't fall apart or anything. And must've gotten clean enough for renewed use. >'Kat

Nothing to bind and tear a bulky garment or destroy a helmet liner in a front loader.
Since I got my front load washing machine clothes just seem to last longer. Benifit is that they use much less water and help save the planet while they save your clothes. Also I am on septic and do not have city sewer so it saves my leach field too.
Draining on the ground is illegal and attracts termites so we won't be doing that.

The main cap usually has a plastic front that slides into tabs in the front of the helmet and then a few snaps in the back while the cheek pads usually have three snaps on each of them and some have a vinyl edging that has to be tucked under the rubber edging around the bottom of the helmet.
