Why so big?

Why so big? Getting ready to buy an Adly Thunderbike 50 from my ex boss..who I was a Scoot mechanic for. It has 470 original miles. Fastest stock 50cc 2T I have ever ridden. Which confuses me since it's Her Chee made...but still your standard Minarelli engine. 55+mph out of the box by only adding a Technigas pipe. Rest is stock. So I assume the Minarelli 70 BBK's should really turn the power on. My question is why is the belt so big?? Long Case Minarelli's use a 788 belt...the spare he is tossing in is 878 and what the lil booklet calls for. So why would the Her Chee Long Case engine use a longer belt than it's twin...the Long Case Minarelli?

It all depends on the size of the wheel. They have TWO long case motors to accomadate the 16" wheel scoots. Alleyoop

On some 150cc scoots they come with 250 size CVTS the Variators are 123mm and a big Clutch pulley. Alleyoop

So maybe it is one of their 90cc Long Case engines with a 50cc top end? So let me guess..special CVT and special clutch as well. But the 70 BBK will fit..will it not? I wanna figure out where the power that high comes from on a stock normally aspirated 50cc bore. Must be the port timing?? So the 70 BBK may not produce more power due to its timing..or will probably produce the same merely due to the larger bore size. All I know..only faster production 50cc Scoot I have ridden is the Aprilla SR50 with Ditch engine...this Adly...and then just below them..my old Bennelli X50 Andretti model.
