To maintain AF balance, If i want to add more air in by drilling a hole in the air cleaner housing should i also drill an equal size hold in the exhaust as well or doesnt it work that way?

Hard to say. Considering the differences in the size of intake vs. exhaust valves (assuming you have a 4t) the same might be applied to mods in the inlet and outlet flow hardware. What is that difference... maybe 50% more flow area for the intake valves? How far you take intake and exhaust mods depends on the amount of noise you're willing to live with.

Air flow in/out balance is one thing. Air/fuel balance is another matter. Be careful to keep track so you don't end up running too lean.
