Scooter: Peace Sports B09 49cc
This scooter came to me after it broke down. The owner said it made a whining sound then died. Mechanically it looks fine. The engine turns, the oil is clean, the belt is good. There is no spark. I swapped out the coil and CDI but there is still no spark. The wires are fine with no shorts or broken wires. I put in a used regulator and it still won't fire. I've got new regulator coming. I am baffled. Any ideas?

Have you checked the kill-switch wiring?

Magneto- or stator as some call it. You will need a special puller to remove the flywheel. Check all wiring and plugs before you do though

The stator is putting out about 50 volts while the starter is cranking. about 4 volts are going to the regulator from the stator while cranking. Are these out of range?
