[replyingto=triker]triker[/replyingto] Hey guys- I smoked for 55 years and gave up in 1997.Haven't touched a cig since . All you have to do is just put the pack down and forget them.(that's the hard part). I use to get tired of people always telling me to quit and one dayI found the secret . YOU WILL QUIT WHEN YOU ARE READY TO QUIT AND NOT A MINUTE SOONER . I am now with triker . There is nothing like a plate of southern ribs!!!!

My problem with quiting is EVERYTHING gets on my nerves, and cigs are IN YER FACE everywhere.

I smoked for about ten years, various brands, mostly old school camels and Marlboro. I quit for fertility reasons, and stayed quit for my wife and son.
After the first two weeks, you'll wonder what all the fuss was about with quitting.
I think everyone should have at least one vice, and mine is a pack of ten Marlboro Lights if I/we have a night out.
I'm thinking of keeping a pack in the scoot, for those, "Sat at the side of the A614 again, waiting for the recovery truck because Chinese scooters are a piece of junk" days though.

[replyingto=jerseyboy]jerseyboy[/replyingto]Eeesh. That's about as healthy as poppy seed tea I've inhaled plenty of solder while doing electrical and computer work, I wouldn't recommend that to anyone. Tip: There is no amount of led that is not harmful to your body and brain. Banana peels... Isn't that a legal high thing? Anyways "Researchers at New York University have found that banana peel contains no intoxicating chemicals, and that smoking it produces only a placebo effect." There are lots of other healthier legal highs anyway. I have a friend named Dan who is into all that legal high stuff and he gets so many different things I could hardly begin to list them. Kratom, roseMary, cloves, nutmeg, Dex, salvia, legal mushrooms, etc. just to name a few. The health risks of some of those legal drugs are way worse than illegal drugs too. Dan has already formed an illness of flashbacks and other psychological issues from his extensive legal drug usage. People die from basically an opium overdose from poppy seed tea...

Reading this thread I realized it is 40 years, this summer, that I quit. Bet a fellow worker that he would start again before me, $1. He moved and I heard over the years he started , still waiting my dollar. I smoked Old Golds, 2 packs a day. I still miss it while driving my car.
