I have done it for years... and then got out of it till just recently . I enjoy all kinds but mostly marvel and Image. To be more specific , I like certain issues of Amazing Spiderman (trying to collect all Tod McFarlane issues) and Wolverine. Also like Punisher Hardly any DC comics but I do have Superman dies issues... but they are worth nothing really I also like Savage Dragon which is the longest running comic book by the same artist /writer, Eric Larsen.

I just like some of them, and I love Manga if that counts. Rurouni kenshin, ranma 1/2, hayate no gotoku, even naruto. As far as comic books go, I like the assassin's creed ones and Super Man The Red Son.

[replyingto=domindart]domindart[/replyingto]Well I'm really big on Japanese culture and language and such. So what I like the most would be the Japanese cultural influence always so apparent within the manga, whether it be art style, references, or just the way the characters talk - it's very Japanese-y. Like, nobody gets it that Naruto is hilarious in and of itself because "Naruto" in Japanese actually means "Fish Sausage". I mean, the main character's name is "Fish Sausage", c'mon! Superman The Red Son is my favorite comic book because I'm a big history buff and seeing an alternative universe where superman aids the soviet union instead of America is absolutely fascinating to me.

Have you seen that clip from Kill Bill 2 where he (David Carradine) explains to Uma Thurman the dynamic of Clark Kent and Superman in relation to the common person? It was a really cool take on Superman Here it is Don't really collect Ghost rider, but I have a few issues (that were drawn well) Venom is awesome though! I would love to get ahold of Amazing Spiderman 300, that is the first appearance of Venom I think. Superman Red Son sounds really interesting, I should check that out

I'm both a reader and collector. I probably have the largest private collection of mostly-worthless comics. I've complete runs of Ninjak and Eternal Warrior, most of Dr Strange, Battle of the Planets and Voltron, a big chunk of mid-90s Superman (quit once they splintered into four titles after his death), all comics with The Shadow, Samurai Penguin, almost every appearance of Morbius the Living Vampire, Arion, all but the first five or six Sandman (and I have the collected book, so that's okay as the issues are expensive now). Think that's all my main ones. Lots of individual titles. >'Kat

I used to be... until they my entire collection was stolen. People suck.... Now I just read for fun, mainly on my iPad. Sounds like we read a lot of the same stuff.. very little DC. More Batman than Superman. Even though I'm a Marvel guy, The Killing Joke comic/graphic novel is one of the best ever written. One of the coolest things that ever happened to me is related to comics. I was having a garage sale and a guy was buying some of my Hot Wheels and comics for his kids. He asked if I collected and I told him the story about my comics being stolen, but that I still try to by anything with Wolverine in it. An hour later he shows back up and hands me Hulk 181 (the 1st appearance of Wolverine). I was dumbfounded... I tried to tell the guy how valuable it was and that he really shouldn't be giving it to me. He insisted. Needless to say, I gave his kids every Hot Wheel I had in the garage sale. So I guess, not "all" people suck.

I did for a short period back around when Superman was delivered a "deathblow" from Doomsday, in the early 's. Then the comic book store closed.

Hi For the character's name, Kishimoto Masashi chose "Naruto", in reference to a ramen topping called kamaboko, which is a sliced stick with a pink whirlpool-like design in the middle. The reason why he chose this name was because Ramen was the character's favorite food in the series. The character's surname "Uzumaki" is a pun on "spiral" (渦巻), while "Uzumaki" refers to a three-dimensional spiral, like a whirlpool or vortex. A more accurate translation for spiral would be "Rasen". The series is seen to make frequent references to spirals Take care and ride safely dear friend Yours Hank

I forgot--I've got every Soloman Kane appearance that I know of. And Green Hornet. He's great. And the Twilight Zone series.
I think my most valuable comics are my first Dr Stranges, the first appearance of Morbius, my first few Spawns, my early Sandmans (signed by Neil!! Thanks to my Uncle who had no knowledge of who the guy was). Maybe the surprise reveal and proposal issues of Supes.
I culled a bunch of books that I'd picked up randomly and had little interest in. Spent an evening with a not-too-old Comic Buyers' Guide and found that almost all of them were valued at cover only. Ended up trading them plus several boxes of books for credit at a used book store. And picked up about a dozen art books instead.
