I bought Spawn No. 1 back in the day for $10, hoping one day it would be worth something. Worth about the same now. Not sure what ever happened to my comics.

Spawn WAS awesome... But it just got stupid and McFarlane turned into a tool.

I bought Spawn as it came out--the shop owners recommended it both as a good read and for its potential to increase in value. So even $10 is a plus. I think I made it to issue 14 before giving up as it really wasn't my type of story. Nice art though.

Todd's art put him on the map I believe. He did Spiderman 1- 18 or so...... this made him really popular and he then quit Spiderman but did a few runs in Amazing spiderman. I'm trying to track those down (well when I have play money) When Todd came out with Spawn I think there was some question about who really created it. Not sure what came of that feud but Todd got rich and famous over Spawn. Maybe that's why he became a "tool." as ken put it lol I don't remember how the series/ story ended if it did end... I know the book is still running... Did Spawn ever get revenge and make everything right with his wife??? humm... I should go back and read and find out... maybe some day

I've been told Todd won't give autographs but charges for them. Which is pretty dooshy in my book. Neil Gaiman who is lightyears beyond Todd gives his autograph, although he limits how many books he'll sign.
Except for my Uncle, who waited in line for TWO HOURS to have somebody he knew nothing about sign comics he knew nothing about for his niece who he loved. NG was signing two books per person. I got all my collected books signed, three comics, my novel, plus a letter that says "You better appreciate what your uncle did for you!"
Trust me, I did and still do.
>'Kat, who feels any author/artist should give away autographs, since these people wanting the autographs are what made them their money.
