I have a TGB 151cc scoot. It started having issues after an electrical issue.
What happened was I went to ride it late at night after moisture had built up on it. No more than five minutes into riding it, all my lights went out. I'm assuming the moisture caused a short somewhere and killed any bulbs on AC(My turn signals and brake light still worked).
I let it sit for for a few days and replaced the headlight and tail light. I took it for a ride, and maybe 15 minutes into the ride, I stopped at a stop sign and noticed the motor bog down when I gave it gas. I drove it back to my house and let it idle to see what it would do. It bogged down and died.
Since then, It'll cold start just fine. Once it warms up, after a couple minutes, and the motor comes down to a slow idle, it bogs down and dies.
-I messed with the throttle adjustment on the carb -I checked the air filter -I replaced the fuel filter(it needed replaced) -I replaced the spark plug(NGK) -I changed the oil(needed) -I cleaned the carb and checked the floats
I am now at a loss of what else to do. I originally didn't think that the lights shorting out and the bogging problem weren't connected, but now I'm starting to wonder. If anyone can offer some insight, it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Welcome to the forum, unknown. You did a lot of troubleshooting and checked a lot of things. When was the last valve adjustment? Does the engine restart right after stalling or do you have to let it cool down in order to restart?

Thank you! I've been reading the old forum for almost a year, and just now made the switch over to this new one.
I've only owned it for about 200 miles. It's got 700 on it. My guess based on the first two owners is that the valves have never been adjusted. I wouldn't know how to either.
I do have to let it cool before I can restart it.

That would be my next step. Even if it doesn't cure your problem, it is a very important part of the scoot's maintenance.

I was hoping someone could provide some other ideas I could try if the valve adjustment doesn't work. Any insight greatly appreciated. Thank you!

It may be the fuel enrichener on the carb is not functioning properly. I would check those valves first though, it is very easy. There are also instructions on here to check the enrichener

So from what I've read on how an enricher works, it cuts off the extra fuel after it's warmed up(2-3 min), which is when my scoot wants to bog down and die at low idle. So from this, I can conclude that my scoot won't run without the extra fuel.
The only way I can describe the bogging down is when the motor slows down to where is should idle(low idle), it will continue to slow down and stall. If I give it gas to keep it from stalling, it stutters with very little power until it picks back up to a higher rpm. Can improperly set valves cause this? If so, can someone explain why/how?
I'm very interested to learn how to maintain my scoot, but none of this knowledge will stick unless I understand the mechanics behind it.
Thanks a bunch!

Actually the issue could be that it is getting too much fuel. Pull the spark plug when it bogs and dies and report the condition...

If my engine runs fast when I first start(cold start), then slows down to slow idle after a couple minutes, wouldn't that mean the enricher is functioning properly?
If the enricher is functioning properly, and the engine bogs down and dies after the enricher is fully extended and the engine is in slow idle, wouldn't that mean its getting less fuel when it stalls?

Maybe? If it is idling down it is working. Only way to know for sure is to inspect the plug.

Ok. I will be home in about 4 hours. I'll start with adjusting the valves. If that doesn't work, I'll pull the plug and report the condition.
