Bad news is, I hit a deer with my Son-of-a-VOG, my Xingyue 300.
Good news is, I didn't go down. Don't ask how I was that lucky. Happened that the herd thought crossing the road in the middle of a fog bank would be pretty kewel...fog would hide them from those predators, ya know.
I slowed to 45 for the fogbank but didn't want to stop and get run down. So I did the running-down. Caught a deer on the hips.
And yes, the air was filled with tupperware. The nose-piece of the scoot is...well, it's securely fastened still. But the right side is broken with a gaping hole.
Now...this is the Xingyue that I had an engine failure on, under warranty. I haven't been in evidence here, as the thing went into the shop in July - and came back in May.
That's right. TEN MONTHS to get engine parts, instructions, and install them. The dealer deserves a medal for sticking with it and doing me right.
But I don't trust it. And now, with this damage, I can't sell it.
WHERE can I get used, or new, tupperware for a VOG? I think the VOG 260 would be a bolt-on.

Solidarity brother! I hit a deer a year or so ago on my Vog - shattered the plastic and the black plastic, lost mounting holes, the works. I took my two boys and we scoured the area an got just about all the plastic shards. If you want to put it together like a puzzle, which I was able to do with great success, get something called "Weldon 16" on the internet for all the body plastic and any plexi/lexan. It creates a very strong bond. For the black plastic, you can use Locktite Epoxy for plastic. You need to hold the glued area for about 15 minutes, but it bonds very strongly. You can see all my damage up close, but it came out pretty well. I bolted in steel "L" brackets where I needed an attachment point that was lost. As for body, if you just want to replace, you can go to www.bmsmotorparts.com/ and work your way to the TBX 260 body panels. There is also a bike being parted out from time to time on ebay you might want to check. Let me know if you want to see any before and after pics to give you some motivation. It might come out better than you think. Glad you're safe, and good luck!!

Ahhh. The plastic was lost...in little pieces, I think. Came off on the road in a fog, and I was late for work. So there's no doing the Humpty-Dumpty with this.
The BMS is the same basic machine - it's the VOG, the Tank Touring, all of those. But the headlights and front are a bit different.
I would need to replace headlights as well as the nose plastic. The whole cowl is farkled up...headlights are okay (they're two piece, with the clear being part of the nose molding) but I'd have to get exact replacements - or a full set of tupperware and headlights.
I'm in no hurry - I can weigh the options. I figure if I haven't found a way by the time the tires wear down, or something else pops up - then I'll just sell it for what few dollars I can.
Ka-ka happens. If I'd gone down the machine would have been a write-off; as it is I'll get a summer out of it, broken though it is.

That's a bummer that you can't collect the pieces. One reason I glued everything together is that to buy the replacement plastic was a significant portion of the value of the whole scooter. Sorry you've had such troubles with this once. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

[replyingto=jarlaxle]Jarlaxle[/replyingto]I have been. Scooterfinds supposedly locates all CL listings; and there's no VOG, Xingyue XY300t-4, XY260t-4 Tank Touring or BMS cycles of that generation up there now.
