Good morning everyone. I haven't been on much lately for several reasons, one been doing a lot on the new V5 set up, two lots of work around the house and three I have been getting ready for my families trip to Disney. We left to go to my daughter's place in Twenty Nine Palms Ca. early Saturday morning. This is a Marine base we went to because her husband is in the Marines stationed there. We spent the night in Albuquerque N.M. at the Parks Inn with a big pool and water park that my wife, step son and grand kids really enjoyed. We arrived late yesterday around 5:30 in Twenty Nine Palms. Man is it hot here! As I traveled my temp gauge in the Traverse registered 114F for a long spell. When we arrived it had cooled to 104F. We're resting today and enjoying the company of my daughter and son in law and early in the morning we are going to Disneyland for two days. Going to see Mickey Mouse! ;D We're not leaving until this coming Sunday and this Saturday Doug and I are going to meet up and visit for the first time in person, really look forward to that. Next year I get to pick the vacation spot and I'm thinking COLD! Maybe Wisconsin, Maine, even Alaska! Will get a picture or two of Doug and I so hope we don't bust the camera! JR

WEll it doesn't take long to learn 3 things about Disneyland. One you need to like crowds BIG CROWDS! Two you need to like long lines waiting on the rides as in 1 hour or more Three you need to like walking to go with the long waiting lines. You can add hot weather although temps were cooler today from what I've been told and high prices. A set of the mini mouse ears for girls is $23. + tax. Tomorrow we'll go to the other half of the park and going to start early hoping for less people. JR

I went in the 60's ;D If Knotts berry farm is still in existence, you should go there too. Have a good one I worked for about 3 months in '70 -- when Walter Knott and family owned it. Walter died in '81, 14 years later his kids preferred money instead of working and sold it out. It is still there, but now it is just another amusement park.

Well folks after a long old drive we made it home safe and sound. After meeting Doug on Saturday morning in Palmsdale we left out for Arkansas. Made it to Gallup N.M. Spent the night (what was left of it) got up and ate a good breakfast and then put it in the wind to Arkansas. Pulled in at 1:00 a.m. this morning. Disneyland was interesting but IMO over rated. The first day was long and hot and what makes it so frustrating is the extremely long lines. One hour wait is the norm to ride anything. Food and drinks especially high compared to what I'm used to but I expected that. Second day was very pleasant as it rained a little the night before and it was cloudy and cool. All the kids had a blast and for me that's what it's all about. The are where my son in law is stationed is nothing but desert and the highest temp I saw was 114F but it does get hotter. Nothing like what I'm used to and even Doug told me I wasn't in the prettiest section of California and from my past trips I knew that real quick. As I mentioned Doug and I met Saturday at the Pizza Hut in Palmdale and got to visit for a spell. I really enjoyed the visit and wish we would have had more time. Hopefully one day when he comes to see his parents in north central Texas he'll have the time to head up my way and I can show him around and we'll have a longer visit. I do have pictures and when I can get the other camera away from the Mrs. I'll post some of our trip. Great trip but glad to be home. JR
