Hi all-
It's been a long time since my last post on the old forum. I bought an Ice Bear Road Warrior 3 years ago, and a lot has happened over the years, not very much involving actually riding the beast. It needed a whole lot of fixes to make it reliable. I changed out the rear tires to get something DOT rated, got rid of the stock carb and replaced it with a Mikuni kit that was being sold by an outfit specializing in Lifan-motored 250cc choppers. I took off the Ice Bear (Virago-copy) gas tank, and replaced it with Harley Fat-bobs, including speedo and dash. I put old BSA Lightning mufflers on it, since there was less restriction, and I could tune it to the Mikuni. I put a Corbin-style Sportster seat on it. After I disabled the reverse on the rear gearbox, the "shuddering" problem I had been having disappeared.
So, now that it was customized, and all the running problems were fixed, I found to my dismay that the "springer" front end is too harsh for my back condition to tolerate (which was the whole reason I bought it in the first place...I couldn't ride any two-wheelers any more).
So, I'm thinking of selling it, and after several months of sitting idle, I charged up the battery and tried to start it.
All I get is a "spinning" noise from the starter motor. No "engagement" sounds whatsoever. Is there some kind of internal Bendix in this motor?
In any case, if anyone has any information whether this is a starter motor probelm, and any info as to how I can acquire another one, please let me know.
TIA for any advice.

Yea, you have a STARTER CLUTCH. The starter turns the Idler gear which is meshed with the starter clutch. Need to take the right side cover off to get at it. Alleyoop
