I have a JCL MP 150 B,, It has the projector headlights, I am not too pleased with the strength of these lights at night...I am looking to add a set of 3" round driving lights...They have the h-3 bulb and are 12 volt 55 watt...Can these be added to my scoot without draining too much power??

Most 150cc scoots have a 35 watt single lamp or two 20 watt lamps for a reason. The electrical system can be very weak on some and may not be able to charge the battery if you add 2 55 watt lamps for another 110 watts of load to a system that may only have a 150 watt total capacity.
Even upgrading the bulb in the existing lamp by 5 or 10 watts may be too much depending on how much reserve capacity they designed into your bike. Many will change over all the other lamps to LED to free up some watts for more powerfull headlamps.
The headlamp was one of the main considerations when I purchased my current bike. If you do a little more shopping around before hand you can avoid buying a bike with insufficient lighting to start with many times without spending any more money. I know that does not help you but for newbies looking for a first ride they really should consider this when shopping for a bike.

The Ultra have about 1/4 the life expectancy of the standard H7 bulb yet cost about 4 times as much costing $28 to $38 a bulb depending on the seller. The Xtravision are only a few dollars more and may give you the light output that you are seeking yet again just going with a better quality standard bulb from Sylvania/Osram may do that also.
