guzzi, congrats on the Vespa. Hopefully your wife doesn't enjoy it TOO much!

Thanks 'Kat!!
But:
Change of plans!! When we went to pick the Vespa up, it kept dying on me. Got 200 feet from his house, died and wouldn't start back up. It now has me a little concerned since it was just serviced.
Instead, we found a 2009 Buddy Blackjack 150 for the same price and are buying that instead. Wish it were the Vespa, but I've lost faith in that particular bike and feel we need something else. Maybe a new vespa down the line, we'll see. The other used Vespas were too much money for us right now.

The black jack is a much coveted series by the Buddy crowd. It's a solid scoot by all accounts.

guzzi, bummer about the Vespa. But sounds like you did right in not buying. So did you get the Buddy? How does it go for your wife?

Both of us wanted an Italian scooter. We found a few others, but they were just a little too much money for her first bike. We did pickup the the Blackjack on Tuesday. I rode it home from Marietta to Dunwoody on all back roads. Performed better than I expected given my size, 250+lbs! Should do well for my wife. She hasn't gotten on it yet because of the weather. Hopefully she can ride it tonight or tomorrow fir the first time, but I think she'll like it. She loves the looks!

We might too if we had any pictures, hint, hint... For some reason, I can't copy the link to my Photobucket image. Will try again when I get home. Right now, it's a stock Blackjack. We're thinking of putting a regular seat on it, maybe red if I can find one, and the luggage rack and trunk.

Love the red rims. Can't decide though if an all-red seat would look good, or be too much red. I like the red pinstriping on the seat. Maybe a two-tone seat, like red top black sides? Something like that?
Not as nifty as the DN-01, but still a good lookin' scoot.
