Hi im ade from shrewsbury, I'm 33 and last time I rode a scooter was in 2000 when I bought a brand new gilera dna, spent loads on tuning it then sold it. Today I just purchased this item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=321079347262&index=0&nav=WON&nid=75606820181&trxId=0It's one of these Chinese bikes called a jonway? basically I want a fixer upper over spring to start using soon to get me to work to save on car costs. Not expecting much more from it ;-) Are these things ok or a bad idea? And where do u get parts?

HIYA & WELCOME across the pond are ya?
well could be a great scoot or a depends on how well it was taken care of.
you havent received it yet have you?
depends on how well it runs etc,
PARTS?--there are a ton of banners at the top of the page. these are dealers that are pretty active here, so trusted people.
one of the 1st things you should do is go to the home page theres a section, called 'new to scooters' check it out and it will help ya alot. one thing i would definitely do is a PDI a post delivery inspection , that will help you find any probs before they become a MAJOR prob
hopes this helps

Hi I'm in uk, I did wonder on it, I thought for 14 months old it ain't in great condition. Supposed to pick it up on Thursday. I wasn't bothered about doin own maintenance but didn't want something that broke down every day
The 14,000 miles shows it has been reliable in the past ;D

It has a ton of mileage, most don't make it close to that, i bought a roketa for 250 bucks that has 1500 miles on it and that was high for my taste.

I thought the price was worth a risk, and it is not far to go to pick up

That is a lot of miles(chinomiles) for a China scooter, but hey you now have a starting place. You are wanting to fix it up and there are a lot of things available for the motor in that.
We have a manual you can download for it here. and if you have problems we can try and help you figure it out.
Be sure to do a safety check on it before you take it out on the road.

Looks like it has a strange 2 stroke pipe on it, or is it a two stroke?

Tbh until Thursday I don't know if its air cooled/water cooled, or 2 stroke or 4, but really appreciate all the advice. I don't mind doin the maintenance, cosmetic problems doesn't bother me

The posting says it runs and it could be a typo on the mileage, probably added a 1 on the front of it.

Maybe you'll get lucky (I did a complete rebuild on a brand new scoot) if I were in your shoes I'd pdi it and see what happens. Cheers! x1scooters.com/pdi.html
