On an AC scooter, I wouldn't imagine it would matter on a DC, how much can you use the battery before the stator can't keep ahead of the charge?
Another words... On my AC scooter, the turn signals, the gauges, and the brake light, all work off the battery. They don't take much power or they aren't used very much to drain the battery. The headlight on the other hand, runs off the stator. If you hook the headlight up the battery, it's too much for the stator. I know, I had the headlights plugged in wrong once.
So how much can you put on the battery before the stator can't keep up with keeping it charged?
I'm not going to, but what if you wanted to install a stereo? Could it handle that?
Anyone know?

During the colder fall mornings i hookup an inverter to the battery and i plug a heating pad into it and put it under my shirts. Not sure how many amps it pulled but the batt held up fine over an hour ride. I also tried to hook up a small 100 watt kenwood amp which i hooked an mp3 player to. I used two 4 inch speakers but due to my loud exhaust i couldnt hear them that good. But i didnt have any probs with the batt while the amp was installed. My scoot uses a 9BS I see many others use a 7

Thanks geh333, that's a good sign that what I am going to do will be fine. Also, my battery is 12 volt.
And I don't know what pole the stator is and I haven't looked at the regulator to know how many wires are on it.
I just have a lighting design I am going to put on one of my scooters and I programmed a microcontroller chip so that I can switch it to do different patterns I programmed. I am sure that that won't be a problem, it's the lights that I am worried about. It's going to be using that EL Wire, and I don't know how much the electricity the inverter uses for that stuff.

If you go with 11pole stator you can power upto 125watts and stay positive to keep the battery charged , using 12vdc .

Wattage, that's all I need to know.
I would assume if it's a 6 or 8 pole, it would still give at least 100 watts, correct?
Thanks for the help.

on the 6 and 8 I never tested output , with the 11pole I only tested dc output .
