Hello....new to scooting, and new to this board, but I have been reading through it to solve my issue...I'll try to make this short;
Bought a 2007 Roketa Aruba 150 scooter this week, had 23 miles on it....awesome older guy owned it, drove it twice..
Bought it, battery was dead and would not start...after tinkering, found a rotted vaccum line and replaced it....hooked a 12 volt battery to the battery to "jump start it" (not connected to a vehicle) and after a couple times it fired and we've been driving it since. Started it with the push button starter button.
Drove it home, next day went and bought a new battery....charged it and followed instructions...starter switch will not start it...all lights and horn work (battery works) but starter switch won't do anything.
Also, on top of this, headlights aren't working. All other lights are (brake, tail, turn, hazards)
Really could use some advise as like I said, I'm new to scooters..I know my way around an engine ok, but this electrical is driving me nuts!

Also, I want to add....I jumped the solenoid with a screwdriver and it started right up...every time. Checked the small wires going into the solenoid and the brake light and brake safety switch appear to be doing what they are meant to do

Got the push button starter working...took off plastics and the connector was loose Now to solve the headlight problem...then I have an awesome little scoot....the bulbs look fine....one sign is that the high beam indicator is on all the time on the dashboard...thoughts?

I am very new to scooters, 3 days old new.. But I had motorcycles in the past, and the headlights sometime do not work if the scooter's engine is not running. so check that out..

[replyingto=tiopedro]tiopedro[/replyingto]Thanks for the reply...yes, it's always running when I'm testing it
One thing funny to me....lights have a green, blue, and white wire running into them...all are 'hot' on the test light on both bulbs.
Another funny thing...dimmer switch has 3 wires going into it, they are also always hot, no matter what I do with the dimmer switch
I am now officially stumped....replace the switch?
