Just installed Airsal 50mm bbk.
Idles great. Takes off like a scalded dog! Runs great! 0-30mph in 4 seconds!
Once I've been rideing above 35 for a few seconds and creep twards 37ish, VRAAAP, and I lose power. Have to let off the throttle for a few seconds and its back to normal. Hummin like a fat rat....
The first time it happened I thought I could smell a hot plastic smell. This could be from the fresh jug and head
Second time it sounded more like a plastic sound. Like maby the fan hitting the plastic. Could this cause power loss?
Valves are set to .004
Blew through exaust, slight back pressure, normal I belive.
The only thing I noticed when doing the bbk. The timeing mark wouldn't line up with the line but lined up with the T.
Bike is a BMS Apache (Znen)

Does the VRAAP sound like what I call a BURP or BRAAT ;D
It is running LEAN, Give the Fuel Ratio Mixture screw 1/2 or 1/4 turn richer. Alleyoop

It seems that was it, didn't have a chance to lay on it long enough b4 I got to work. I did have it above 35 for a lil bit, it didn't sound like it wanted to "BURRP". Ill see tonite.
That burp was prolly my engine trying to sieze huh?

Great, it was just a little on the lean side no biggy sometimes if it is on the edge of lean and the temp drops say 20% it will run a little lean and the motor may make that sound. That is why it is good to run a tad rich at WOT.
No, a braat out of it at higher speeds is just a little lean that the Fuel Ratio Mixture Screw can handle. If it was running really LEAN it will fall flat on it face and start to drop rpms on you, in that condition it most likely needs a bigger main jet if something else is not the problem like the fuel flow is not filling the carb bowl. Thanks Alleyoop! You know how hard it is to search for Vraap? Not happening...runs smooth now.
Now I'm trying to figure out if its restrictions or what keeping me below 40MPH. I bet its the head because my old head was ported I found out. I could get it up to 40 sometimes before the swap.

Ok well, I still had a vrapp here a vrapp their. So I put in my main jet. Still a tiny vrappp just barely. So I'm going to try adjusting the needel. I'm going to do it tomoro,so speak up if anyone thinks this could be a bad idea, or whatnot. Ill report my findings tomoro. Hopefully my experiences will help someone else.

I lowered the clip. Much better, but I still got a small burp after holding WOT for an extended period of 50-60 second. I turned the A/F mix back 1/2 turn and haven't had a problem so far... but my A/F is out about 2 1/2 turns. So I may drop the clip to the last notch. And hopefully set the A/F right.
