Now we are getting down and dirty, hundreds and I mean hundreds on here and the other forums are running modded 50s up to 100ccs(really) around 83ccs but they all round the figures up. Anyway NONE and I mean NONE have this CARB BOWL DRAINED DRY running at WOT.
So I will say again your barking up the wrong tree. I have DECADES of experience and knowledge not just a few years and I posted a lot of how-to and tricks of the trade in the TIPs and TRICKS SECTION to help the people on here. But as we older folks know when your young you think you know everything and egos get in the way of listening to those with a heck of a lot more knowledge and experience on how things work. So when something is posted that is pretty much the cause and the person having the problem just blows you off because he believes he knows best what can one do. What I do is let the poor soul suffer through his trials and errors and many get nothing fixed usually makes things worse or they wind up spending a lot of money on parts not needed thinking this and that will fix it.
It is really no skin off my nose if someone does not listen and wants to learn, I just move on and try and help others and also on the other 2 popular forums I belong to as well. I have heard the boosting that I am this and that I can do this and that and really one just has to laugh. Many will say I work on race cars and race then and what not BUT I HAVE never worked on a scooter motor. Well if they DID OR DO work on cars they would surely know how to fix A 1 LITTLE CYLINDER MOTOR that works the same as a car motor so that right there is a dead giveaway that the poor soul really does not know much about motors or electrical and how they work. You have to laugh and feel a little sorry at the same time. All that and the poor soul hasn't got a pot to piss in amazing. If someone had all those credentials I would expect to see the guy at LEAST working in a dealership making good money and a good living AND NOT DRIVING a little 4 banger.
When you see a response from me and you do not want my input just say thanks but no thanks Alleyoop. You won't hurt my feelings I will back off and go try and help someone else. I do not want to push myself on someone that does not want to hear from me no biggie.
Many on here PM me for assistance and I never turn anyone away IF I know and can be of help and or point them in the right direction I am more than happy to. Alleyoop

Kingkaymo - Then you are only interested in skipping proper registration by passing off an over 49cc bike as one not requiring registration. If you need to ride at speeds that legally require registration then a registerable bike is what you need. I am not one to endorse or encourage illegal activity, evasion of taxes/registration fees or the deception of governing authorities which is what you are really doing when pass off a 50+ cc bike as a sub 50. You may rationalize it all you want but it is what it is.
I currently ride an Aprilia 250 because I needed to go 45+ reliably and lawfully without taking a fuel economy or reliability hit from pushing a small engine outside of its envelope for max efficiency. I spend about an hour or so doing just scheduled maintenance every 6,000 miles aside from the 5 minute or less 3,000 mile oil level checks so other than that it is check tires, put gas in, adjust mirrors and ride washing the bike on occasion.
My previous comment was not addressed specifically to you however and was a genneral comment to those that ride at WOT and are sometimes confused when they have problems. When you push a low displacment bike to do the job of a larger one there are generally tradeoffs and reduced fuel efficiency, lower reliability along with the increased cost of dealing with the repairs are usually among them.

[replyingto=alleyoop]alleyoop[/replyingto]Hi alley, Yes, it is possible for the bowl to go dry. It happened to me.The problem was simple. Insufficient tank venting. I drilled a 1/8" hole (carefully) in the gas cap, and VOILA ! It has never happened again. It was trying to take out gas faster than the air could get in.But maybe that's a crappy rig I'm sure that I could've removed the plastics, and found a blockage in the fuel venting somewhere, but I think simply allowing a little more air in ,is "good enough" Imust be a redneck hillbilly :PAnd rocky, I agree with you 100% this only happened to me after wot runs.(to see what it could do) I try not to do that for sustained periods, so not to prematurely wear out the engine. You buy a 50, You get a 50.They are fun to tinker with as a hobby. jack

Yes that is a different story if the gas tank is not venting, not venting will stop the flow of fuel out of the tank that is a given. But don't tell me if fuel is flowing that it will run dry running at wot and espeically if you have a gravity fed system and the petcock is working. Alleyoop

How does he know that's not happening on his? the only way I found out, was by taking the fuel line off the carb, and seeing no flow until I removed the gas cap.Anyway, as you say, He'll eventually solve his problem. Maybe the hard way, but so be it
