i just bought a new taotao 150 and only have 300 miles on it. it just started dying on me recently after i first start it in the morning it will take off and run fine for about a block or two and then it starts bogging real bad and dies on me, i have a couple extra cdi boxes and just decided to change it one day after it died and it started right up, but it does the same thing the next morning even with a different cdi box in it, so i have determined that the cdi isnt the problem but yet it fixes it after i change it, i dont understand and its very aggrevating having to stop on the side of the road everyday and change this....someone please help!! its all stock and nothing has been done besides the oil change for break in.

Is it the cy50-a? Aka, "VIP" or "Future Champion"? % of the forum reviews of that particular model report similar constant problems.

Classic case of valves are getting tight once hot and the motor looses compression. Then when you come to a stop and or low rpms it will want to die or die. Then usually you have to wait a few so it cools down and it will crank up again and it repeats. Once they get really bad they will not start. Alleyoop

Here is a VIDEO on how to adjust the valves, IF IT'S a 50cc set the the TOP INTAKE TO .003 inchs and the BOTTOM EXHAUST to .004 inchs. IF IT'S a 150 set BOTH to .004 inchs. Alleyoop
