Hi there. I posted last week about my scooter tipping over and then no longer starting. Well, I fixed that (insulated wire coming out of the spark plug was severed!) but....now I crashed for the first time. I was crossing a big bridge in the rain and the road had streetcar tracks in it. I tried to merge and then I hit the ground.
The scooter started up fine when I got it out of traffic and got myself put back together. I rode it about 5 miles towards home, running fine, but then within a block or so, it started slowing and losing power. After that, it wouldn't start again. It tries to start it won't fire up, making the same sound it does when I'm out of gas.
Any thoughts? It's a 2009 vanguard Excalibur.
Thank you. Like last time, I don't know much, so be patient with me when answering!

Souds like a possible vac line issue. The vac line may have came off during the crash could also be a stuck carb float.

Sounds like it isn't getting gas.
The crash may have dislodged something... maybe the fuel-line was loosened at the carb, or, at the petcock. If it has a vacuum activated petcock, it may have been damaged. I'll bet a thorough check of all fuel and vacuum lines will diagnose the problem.

PS: I too have NO love for diagonal-railroad tracks through intersections... ESPECIALLY wet ones! LOL! Back "in the day" my Harley choppers had thinner tires on the front than our scoots do. Like bicycles, they do NOT get along well with angled tracks... HeHeHe.
I'm glad you didn't get seriously hurt! I've had pals do this, and get fingers wedged between the tracks and the bike, get hit by the vehicle behind them, etc.
Ride safe!

Did you make sure it wasn't just out of gas? Perhaps you lost some when it fell...
