Hey now! Noob here! I recently traded a used bicycle for a 2008 Rhon 50. I caught the bug and recently ordered a Rykota from Power Ride Outlet and instead received a 2011 Lintex HT-150 identical copy. I've been slowly breaking it in, trying to run it now faster than 25mph for the first 300 mi. Yes, I have had to push this beast a few times. I've only got 50 miles on the odometer since I have had it over the last few weeks, due to working all the time. I have been in the bicycle industry for 20 years, operating my own shop for the last 15. So with an abundance of tools, workspaces, an working mechanical knowledge, I thought I would jump in to Scoots or, sometimes in my case "Pushes". I Googled all I can regarding issues and maintenance, You Tube is abundant of some helpful and not so helpful videos, lurked on Sccoter forums, joined this forum, and knocked the dust of my library card and checked out some Haynes Chinese Scooter repair books which are the best at laying it all out. I think I am going to buy the most recently published version. I received my scooter, % fully assembled, with free shipping. PRO did the PDI and included a free oil change. It died on me half way home on the first ride, right after the moment I started to grin ear to ear. Pushed it home, and ran it the next day. It ran fine for a couple of short trips and then it wouldn't start again. I ran it a few days later and made it to work. Awesome! But it died on me again on the way home by the Fed Ex Forum as a Memphis Grizzlies game was letting out tens of thousands of fans. Oh the humiliation. I have since gapped the plug to .6mm and checked and adjusted the valve clearance on intake and exhaust to .12mm per the manual. Started the scoot right up, let it warm and wait for the enriched to cut off and make my idle adjustment. I then took it on another ride for about 20 or so minutes in stop and go traffic. It purred like a kitten and ran well. I then parked it for a few minutes to check the restart. It started right up. I took it for a spin and it quickly just bogged down, I gave it some throttle and it cut out. That was a few days ago. I have since reset the valves to .12mm again as they seemed a bit tight. I'm gonna take it for another spin today. Any suggestions?

howdy, can't help with specifics but welcome to the forum. in regard to the bogging, the first thought with these type scoots is tank venting issues. when it boggs , try removing the fuel cap and see if it runs. also consider loosening the cap for several trips to see whether it cures the bogging problem for good. if it does, you can drill a small hole in the cap. someone will be along directly to tell you the specifices of that.
lotsa miles and smiles to ya ken

Welcome, Paper manuals are great, until you get one we have a group of digital ones that may help you out. I did a search on your scooter and had trouble finding it listed on an English language web page. I thought with the numbers you had with "Lintex HT-150" it would be a 150cc scooter but some of them I saw with that name were 50cc. Either one would probably be a GY6 motor and the valve adjustment spec would be the same. hereFirst was the motor cold (as in temperature of the air, not even a bit warm) when you adjusted the valves? Most people here use feeler gauges that are in inches, not mm, the gap used is 0.003 to 0.005 inches normally. I think that works out to be about 0.03 - 0.04 mm but check one of the manuals I gave you a link to. As Shalomrider says if the vent for the fuel is plugged it can cause it to cut out due to fuel starvation, also doe the simple things that you may have already done, check the fuel filter, the Chinese ones are not that great. Do check for vacuum leaks but that should give you a problem at idle. Timing is not likely to be an issue, but put a good quality spark plug in it, some will come with an NGK plug but if it has a Chinese plug replace it.

Hey y'all! Thanks for the replies. I did drill a small hole in the gas cap through the handle per PRO advice after my first stall... sorry I forgot to mention that. I did the valve adjustments cold. BTW my scoot is a Lintex HT150T-18 more specifically. I am about to take it for a spin back home from my shop. Wish me luck.

I made it home with no issues. Thank God! We'll see how it goes from here. I'll post pics of my ride soon.

I took the Lintex out yesterday afternoon, for about an hour, with my 9 year old daughter riding along, sticking primarily around my neighborhood by the Memphis Zoo, just in case it cut out. It ran quite well, no bogging, surging, or hesitation. It was awesome. I drove it to work this morning with no issues. However keeping it no faster than 25mph for the first few hundred miles is killing me. The odometer now reads 91.8 miles. I'm heading back home shortly. We'll see how it goes.

Taking your daughter on a ride was wrong and a mistake.
Now she's gonna' want your bike. It'll be like the car, only worse "Can I borrow the car, Dad? No? Okay, then I'll just take the scoot see ya'!" ;D

Ha. That's funny Kat! Anyhow... the scooter had been running fine until my trip home to pick up the kids from school yesterday. I had to abandon it and pick up my vehicle only to retrieve it some five hours later. It started back up and I rode it Home with no issues. I have been running it with the fuel cap loose as suggested. Question? Can a slightly loose valve clearance, with the adjustment bolts fixed, cause a rapid slight tapping sound from the motor and cause this cut out?
