Does anyone know of a place that sells a REAL paper element type filter for gy6 Engines. Or even if anyone knows of how to get a hold of a company that is looking to make a new product that could tell them to make this.
The little screen "filters" in our engines suck. They don't filter out anything and if someone made a little paper element that went inside of out engines in place of the "filter" we have now I would definitely buy it and I have a feeling a lot more people than just me would want one too.

Just glue a strong magnet on the oil plug and it will collect all the metal works great on mine.

They do make Auxiliary Oil Cooler and Oil Filter kits. But if you are getting that much crud in your oil....keep it off the Motocross Track..and stop using it at local Mud Bog events... ;D As mentioned above..they do make a magnetic oil drain cap..which is a good idea especially on a new motor..for as we all know..as the new engine wears and seats in..metal flakes are produced. But even with the stock screen filter there are folks out there with 20,000+ miles with no catastrophic failure due to poor oil filtration. Simple the system is..but sometimes simple....is ample...

Problem with adding a filter is that you will need an electric auxiliary oil pump as the stock pump doesn't have enough capacity to deal with the resistance of a paper filter.

The better ones come with a auxiliary pump or reccomend getting one. I have only seen a higher volume GY6 internal replacement oil pump advertised once and that was some time ago.
