While at work today's saw a couple driving around one of those three wheel trikes, two in the back one in the front, man they look really cool in person,I always thought they where kinda goofy until I saw them in person, just curious in stock form are they a lot slower then a two wheeled scoot? Do the handle well?

Stock I would guess it is slower than a two wheeled scooter,
Alley has one that is faster than most two wheeled 150cc scooters. It has been heavily modded though.

The handling on every trike I have ridden scares the crap out of me. I'm not for strange shimmies at high speed or unexpected 2 wheeling. You might like it if you don't expect it to handle like a motorcycle...

I drove around 3 wheelers as a child but didn't own one, I owned a four wheeler. Because its 3 wheels I think it s more unpredictable at turns than any other bike. Not that they are bad, just more unpredictable and danger of flipping over I think..

The trikes have a weight disadvantage. So yes they are a little slower. But with the right mods they can be as fast. But as far as trikes go the 150's have a better power to weight ratio than the other sizes.
As far as handling, my 50 trike doesn't shimmy at all even at 50mph. My magnum doesn't shimmy either, but does start to vibrate at speeds over 80mph. This is due to the quality of tires and the bearings in the rear pivot points. It can be fixed with some upgrades. As with any vehicle you drive/ride you need to know the capabilities and limits. If you know what to expect they are not unpredictable. I push my 50 to the limit on a small race course I have and have had it on two wheels many times. But I know what to expect and can correct it. I haven't flipped it yet. Once you learn the capabilities and limits, they are not any more unpredictable or dangerous than a two wheeler.
