It also depends on your altitude. being at sea level in VA Beach...what teddy said should work. I was stationed at Naval Weapons Station Yorktown for 3 years...my gf was from VA Beach...man I miss her and the walks along the boulevard...just not trying to ride a 50cc Scooter on Princess Anne or London Bridge Blvd's...cars will run you off the road or right over ya..and keep going. We used to set our crab pots out...go for a ride...come back to 3-4 dozen nice Blue Crabs and head home with a tasty feast. Thinking of moving down there now that I am retired from the military....she keeps asking me to...and I miss that place bunches...

Sand Bridge is nice...ya get to cruise the beach and look at $500,000 Condos that you could own easily...well..that is IF you win the PowerBall Lottery.. I would avoid Dam Neck..especially if you are going anywhere near the Naval Air Station area. That base is old it needs to be torn down. None of the buildings on it have Romex type wiring..it's all that OLD fabric covered wiring..and most of it is just sticking out of walls and light fixtures. Talk about a safety hazard...eeesh. At their AIMD(Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Divison) Everytime the big air compressor kicked on..the lights would really dim! It made you feel like George Washington...reading with candle light.
As for your jet..YES you are right that # MJ does suck the gas!! I use a #87.5 in mine. With the #..no ..while riding..you could see the gas gauge move like you were driving a Chevy 350 4 door Dual Wheel Truck.. Ok not quite as much but my guess-stimate put me at less than 40 mpg.. Btw....Kempsville is a nice area..so I know you are not a Peasant.. ;D But traffic can be congested...and in the summer all those Tourists seem to think road signs and traffic lights...are merely suggestions...not actually a law..sumpin like that huh?.. THUMP... &^%$#@ Speed Bump.."No Harry you just ran over 2 Scooters and 3 Pedestrians"...

Oceana shut down?...that's gonna kill the local economy. Commissary cut hours even..that sux.. The Commissaries are needed for the paltry pay active duty get.. I loved shopping there..cause you are buying groceries at their cost..so it's like a wholesale food store. Eggs 89 cents a dozen..bread 99 cents a loaf..Chicken 59 cents a lb etc.. sure helped me out with my 6 kids. When they were teens..I swore they had Tape Worms...gallon of milk lasted about 4 hours... Has Viriginia changed their scooter/moped law..where you could not ride on any road posted above 45mph speed limit? Used to suck..cause with me living in Denbigh and my gf in VA Beach...I had to truck my scoot down there cause the only way is that d@mn Hampton Roads Bridge/Tunnel. You know the one..it's the only interstate in VA that 98% of the time is nothing more than an over rated parking lot. 100 degrees out..you just sit in yer car for hours...sweating and listening to WNOR...while they flatten the tires and pull a 16' tall Semi out of a 15' 6" tunnel that is well marked 4 times..that it is only 15' 6" before you even get to it..
