Shouldn't it start by kick starting it even without the starter relay? I have to put it on it's center stand to kick start it because it is in the way otherwise. But I hold both brakes with the key in the on position and have kicked it about 10 times and it doesn't make a sound. Every 2nd or 3rd kick it kinda catches and won't kick easily until I let it go back up, but I think that is normal, at least it is with my lawnmower sometimes when I pull on it. Could I touch both wires for the starter relay together and get it to turn the starter to see if there may be other problems? By the way the battery reads 12.8V so it is charged well. Sorry for all the questions, but I am trying to not freak out over spending $1400 on something that just sits there.

Yep touching them together should turn the starter. It may take some kicking to get fuel tobflowbint the carb since the lines to it and the float bowl are empty

Thanks. Called Superior Powersports and filed a claim with highly detailed pics. New starter relay being sent today or tomorrow. Talked to Howie and if he comes through he will be the guy I ask for in the future. Very responsive in returning calls and doubled checked the correct missing part with the technician who looked at my pics. New bolts for the front of the seat as well. Hopefully the threads in the frame aren't stripped.
