*I posted this on your old board before realising you had moved...
Hi guys so I am new and thought it rude not to tell my story..
For ten years I have loved my scooters, I started out on a Gilerarunner 125 VX, awesome first bike, really was, though a lot of problems I loved her like a daughter. We saw some good times and some bad times, like my first crash...she came to an end when written off by a travelling businessman in a hire car, parked innocently on a car park. By this point she was about 8 years old and battered and bruised, I reckon she was worth £200, but as the guy that wrote her off had fully comp insurance I ended up getting £1200 for her, plus £130 for scrappage, I was happy as larry...
So with my money I went to get a new bike, I had no extra money so was limited to £1300 for a bike, helmet, gloves and lock...I chose a lexmoto zoom 2, it looked pretty good and rode ok, though definitely felt a lot cheaper than the Gilera, so I loved my new bike, then within a week of having her.....I could not believe it....stolen!! I had chained her to some metal railings, in a well lit car park, right in front of a CCTV camera, there was clear footage of two chavs coming up with boltcutters and stealing her....the police did not even bother to view the footage
Which brings me to my current bike, my insurance would only replace it with a like for like bike, so back on a lexmoto zoom 2. Seriously the lists of faults is unbelievable. Broken stand, front mud gaurd snapped off after a very small crash, the rear brakes wore down fast, the speedometer has broken, the tax disc holder snapped off, the seat is broken...its endless. And I am absolutely broke so slowly trying to learn how to do these jobs myself, and I am very grateful for the help this forum provides, so far I have changed the rear brake pads, put a new tax disc holder on...its now started leaking from the handlebars and the exhaust is looking rusty...its going to be a long journey, but I actually love doing it!!!

Welcome!
Thanks for sharing your story. I had a motorcycle stolen once and the police were polite enough to fill out a report. I think it was then just filed in a round filing cabinet.
I am not familiar with your scooters maker. Is it a Chinese made GY6? I hope you get the kinks out of it. We would love to see photos and a progress report.

It is a chinese bike, but I am unsure what a GY6 is? I do take loads of pics whilst I'm working on it, mainly cos I am that much of a newbie to it, I feel proud if I achieve even a small repair, I felt glad I'd fixed my brakes but now it seems to be leaking brake fluid from the handlebars down into the footwell

Wow I'm not sure to be happy for you or sad...
I will help though. If the handlebars are leaking I assume you mean the brake master cylinders. You need to figure this out RIGHT NOW. Tighten everything if it isn't obvious what is leaking. Obviously not having brakes will be a major issue.
Welcome to the forum. Glad to have you
