My vacuum line runs right from intake manifold to gas petcock. I see in most of the forum posts that the vacuum line is split to carb and gas petcock. I have a 50 cc peace motor scoot.

The standard carb on a 50cc gy6 engine doesn't have a vacuum port. The pictures you are probably seeing are those of a carb on a 150cc gy6 engine. Those carbs have an ACV valve on them that uses vacuum to help prevent a lean condition on deceleration.
