i have a 2009 jonway yy50qt-6 scooter... I dont understand what lean/rich means... Its starting to sputter and ive noticed it loses power when this happens and tries to shut off... The instrument display and headlights start dimming... I am really new to scooters and dont understand the terms people are talking about... I love this site cause it helped me fix a problem with gas getting in the air filter... I apologize if im being a bother but there isnt any scooter shops around where i live and i am tryin to learn as i go... Is there a section that defines what these terms people are talking about? Again thank you for all your help as i am very eager to learn about how to fix and diagnosis my scooter issues as i come across them!

Jblann81,
Lean means it needs more gas it is not getting enough.
Rich means it is getting to much gas.
Can you take a picture of your carb the LEFT SIDE which is the side your kickstand is and your kickstarter is.

OR do you know if your Scoot is a 2 stroke or 4 stroke.
OR if you can tell me if the Throttle Cable is attached to a bracket on the right side of the carb.
Or if you can tell me if the Throttle Cable is going into the TOP Center of the Carb.

it is a 4 stroke and the cable is connected to the right of the carb
