Hey you guys hoping you guys can help me out on this. I cant find the reason why my battery wont recharge. I tested the plus and minus power cables and they are not putting any power out when the scooter is idling or even running for throttle. Things to note my head lights work, full brights, and break lights that is pretty much it. But only if I dont have a battery in. I can put a battery in and it will work for a couple hours but that is it. With the battery I can start the scooter, the turn signals work, and horn works. Some odd things I noticed: When I have a battery in the scooter will crank without keys in, break light is always on without keys, turn signals work without keys, horn works without keys. I dont know if this is normal or not but it does not seem like it is. FYI I got this off the auction. Everything else seems to be fine. Feel free to ask questions. Will take any advice. Also about to change the fuses.

I'm guessing the best place to start would be the ignition switch. From the sounds of it, things are wired up in there all kinds of wrong.
The previous owner could have just wired everything up to run without a battery, or key. Seems odd though.

Yeah it really seems like it. But the wires look all clean and dont look like they have been rewired at all. But I can start the scooter unless the key is in it. But otherwise it will crank without the key.

With the KEY OFF nothing should work maybe a clock if it has one.
The Brake lights should not come on unless you squeeze the brakes so the brake switchs are stuck on the on position. Get some WD40 and squirt into where the brake switch pushs the plunger and work the brake handle in and out maybe they will come unstuck. If not you will not new Brake switchs.
If you can crank the starter over without the KEY that means you have a battery voltage going through the ignition and or it was hard wired(which I think it is). The scoot could have been stolen and wired to get it going without a key. Alleyoop

The scoot could have been stolen and wired to get it going without a key. Good shout that. When you say "got it from the auction" do you mean police auction? Or eBay? If eBay it might be worth using one of those "number plate check" text services (depending where in the world you are, and what vehicle registration is like for it) as it could be stolen. Reporting it and losing your money, is better than getting arrested and losing your money. Ian
