2014 Kymco Like 200i with 1760 miles. I’m an experienced mechanic but haven’t had to fix anything on this great machine. Running very rough and won’t idle after a gas fill-up. Finally would not come off idle without stalling. Would re-start but died just off idle. Gas was fresh from a gas station. Decided to pump out tank using the electric pump. Gas was very dark yellow but that might have been me putting Techron in the fuel. Put in different fresh gas and engine ran slightly better. Pumped that out and put in more fresh. Still rough. Removed injector and separated. Connected it to a 9V battery and could hear it click. Turned my air supply down to 30 psi and connected that to the injector. Cycled the injector with the 9V and it seemed to work properly. Put back together and again it ran slightly better. Pulled the spark plug for the first time ever and it was worn. Connected it and watched it spark. Good spark but saw a rogue spark jump from the ceramic to threads. Replaced plug. Was able now to go down the road but still rough. Not pulling as strongly or as smoothly but would get up to 50 mph. On de-celeration, heard some loud pops from the tail pipe. Almost like backfire sounds. Still won’t idle after 10 seconds. Will re-start but doesn’t want to idle. This scoot has always been flawless and all I do is change the oil. Bought with 12 miles. Now has 1760. Sorry this is so long. We love this thing. Please help!
