Hello,
Having an issue with my GY6 150cc scooter.
I bought an engine brand new... because the old one went out.
Everything was fine for a few years until recently it started acting weird. I went to change out the carb.. but for some reason, this carb is not serviceable. The 4 Phillips heads on the bottom of the carb were sheered off and I cannot access the float or jets to clean.
I had a spare carb so I put it on.
When I put the new carb on, I also took off the snorkel tube and breather box and put on a short cone filter.
...and that is where my problems began...
After a week of the popping, I ordered a new jet set.
Originally the carb had a #35 pilot jet - I removed and put on a #45 Originally the carb had a #105 or #108 main jet - I removed and put on a #120
After the upjet - I am still having the popping issues.. maybe even worse...
Please advise!!
Thanks!

exhaust leak is allowing oxygen in to burn leftover fuel in the pipe before it can cool enough. more fuel makes it worse.

After everything I tried.... ended up being a bad coil....!
Nothing fuel, air, or exhaust related at all..
