Found a very low mileage il bella at a good price. The only thing alleged to be wrong is that the drive belt came off, and the owner apparently doesn't want to fool with it. My question is, aside from being not adjusted correctly from the place of original purchase, would anything else cause the belt to "dismount". Scoot is supposed to have less than 200 miles on it. It's some distance away, so I haven't checked it out just yet. Thanks

Great video. Thanks. Looks quite simple to replace. I just wonder why one would break at very low mileage.(or so the owner says.) Thanks again.

What year is the "very low mileage Il Bello"? If older, perhaps dry rot?

Sorry fla gull I must have been asleep for a few days I requested some additional info from the selling party. For whatever reason, the add was thin on facts. Still haven't received an answer from her. The model year, where has it been stored, etc. The deal sounds a little "sketchy" at this point.

I have seen a belt come apart from dry rot it however would mean that the rest of the plastic and rubber is probably in bad shape now too.

Chinese bikes often have less than the best parts. A lot of people swap the belt right away. The dealer where I bought mine has several things that he replaces during inspection, one of them being the belt.
It's not a big deal. I carry a spare and some tools with me when I ride, just in case.
