Good to hear. I will have to do some reaearch on the different kinda of Chinese scooters. There is a roketa 150cc about an hour from me for $700z. Other than that, the only options are order one for around $1k or buy a mainstream brand new

I think the scooter world is kinda like "u get what you pay for" . I first bought a little 50cc peace scooter brand new for like $800 and it was not the quality of my tomos.

I can definitely see that. I am trying to weigh how much I would ride it, how far, and what I would expect to get out of it. They kymco I had was great bc I had to take the interstate to work, but I don't necessarily have to do that anymore, so a smaller one may be sufficient.
I just didn't know if there were any trusted Chinese brands/online dealers at this point or not.

When we got together, I was always around muscle cars, motorcycles, garages, etc. I have always liked the fun, quirky things too though. I just like scooters because they are cheap(er), easier to ride, etc. I am on the fence about selling my Harley, which I am sure is not a popular decision, but I haven't ridden it since Sturgis (August) and am really not going to see a lot of use on it this year. I hate to have $10k (plus insurance, tags, taxes, maintenance, etc) tied up in something that just sits.

I hear you on the sitting. My Harley friend has been talking about selling his for the same reasons. He has driven it, but not a lot. I try to point out both sides, the logical and the emotional for him. Sure, it'll save money to not have a big bike just sitting, and selling will bring in money. But you love riding that Harley, can you really give that up completely?
With him it's the acceleration shifting through the gears esp. Can't get that on a CVT scooter. So far he's kept the Harley, 'cause the emotion wins.
As for sitting bikes, I think I'm the queen. Mine's seen so little action I question if I ever should've bought one. Except I do enjoy riding it to work etc. Mine sat a year+half because of a workman's comp knee issue, which I didn't want to complicate by riding my scooter ("So, you claim your knee still has problems, but you had no problems riding that bike. Goodbye") Last spring I decided that no longer mattered, the knee's history was well-established now, but still didn't get to ride due to weather and various things. SIGH! But this year, I'm just waiting for all our stupid winter-leftovers to finish. And I'm going to ride like it's new!
Funny that your wife goes towards the bigger bike for you, while my Mom would've had heartfailure if I got a motorcycle but was willing (grudgingly) to accept the smaller scooter.
Do check out the KC list, there's always a bunch of scoots listed.
