Hey guys and gals, been getting my ride ready for this season now that its not raining constantly. Spent yesterday cleaning my carb as my dummy self didn't drain it before storage for winter.
After going through all the main passages with carb cleaner and a small, soft copper wire I put it back together and it was still wanting to bog when going wot real fast and then letting off it would go back to normal idle quickly.
I racked my brain trying to think of what would cause this. Finally after tearing the carb down again I realized I hadn't cleaned the "pumper" section of the bowl. Basically its a diaphram, an entry port, and a jet with a ball and spring check valve inside of it. Be extremely careful when pulling this apart to clean, the ball and spring are TINY.
After reassembly, the bike fired right up and no longer bogs when you "rev" on the throttle.
TLDR: pumper carbs pumper section in the bowl will gum up if left with gas in it, twist throttle a couple times after draining bowl for winter to avoid dealing with tiny check valve components and myster bogging on "revving"
