Well, my friend Dayrel, always cut up his brand new 50cc to make faster. He would just start cutting off parts. Like gas gauge, speedometer, headlight, fenders, body parts, ect. So his ideas were OK but did not really make his scooter go faster. These parts only weigh around 3 lbs and best. Alot were there for safety issues. So it would not be recommended to cut off reflectors. But still Dayrel was a little nutty. He one day thought he would put holes in his breather box to make faster. I watched his drill holes in it. It was on a 2 stroke scoot. He took off and the scooter died. Would not keep running. So he taped up the holes. He bought another scooter eventually. Cut it up also. Took off so many parts that eventually the scooter did not run at all. Think he cut into the wiring harness. He tried selling it for half price, but since I owned a scooter well I did not need it. And since would not run, well I did not have the money to waste on a non running scoot. So he cut it up with a hack saw and through parts in the garbage. He was a character. He was in his late 50's in the 's. Would be in his 70's today. I like keeping my scooters original as possible. Looking good. Not torn up. That is where me and Dayrel had differences in opinions.
