I'm thinking of buying an Avanti Epsilon 150. I know they're a chinese piece of crap...normally. This one however has had 1 owner that has put 4K miles on it and only had to replace the battery. I've talked her down from $800 to $600. Is it possible that this peticular scooter is that well built or is it about to fall apart? Should I buy it? Help please! It looks like your standard generic 150cc that goes by many names. With a two year old battery (not a 9 volt system, it's 12 volts) and cosmetic damage, I think $600 is too much. But that is me.
They are basically good scooters. It all depends on the kind of care it's had over it's life. If you want to own a chinese scooter you need to be able to work on them, or know someone that can. If you want to just be able to always turn the key and go look at the japanese offerings.
I have three chinese scooters and I love them. But then I like to tinker with them too.

New they go for around $1,500.00 . First try it out and see if it runs good and do not baby it, 4K miles it is well broken in and should not have any problems cranking on it. Check for tracking straight and no unusual sounds from the motor and or vibrations. Alleyoop

I test drove it and it was a little weak for a 150cc but didnt appear to have any shakes or abnormal sounds and was pretty smooth all the way through. I've had a little experience with small engines and I have a friend that knows how to do most simple repairs on a moped but that being said, I'd rather not fix it every week. The previous owner basically only used it to get to and from campus everyday so I got the feeling like she took good care of it.
