Hello there i have a 2015 DFMOTO 200cc scooter. i cant get the carb dialed in at all. First start cold it fires right up idls high then drops off once the choke activates but the idle dose not drop to were i have it set witch is at 1500RPM it falls below that down to 1200 some times lower when i give it gass. if i let it set for a few minutes or ride eventually the idle will rise up to 1500RPM were i have it set. once its good and hot and i turn it off and come back to start it a while later it want start unless i give it gass to get it going and i have to keep working the gass to keep it running till it can run on its own once its idling on its own it will idle up and down slightly then level off.
Any one have any ideas as to what this can be? i have cleaned the carb many times no real fix there. I played with the Fuel Air mixture but seems i cant get it at a happy point to where it will start on its on with out throttle. hard starting is mostly when the engine is hot it can start fine cold fires right up but runs crappy. i checked the spark plug and its not too dark or to light its kinda in between. the last thing i am going to dig into is the valvs dont really want to go poking around with them but no one else will. i have found vacuum leaks but they have been fixed.

Its a CDI and its a B case. I was thinking maybe it was the choke making it run rich cause the exhaust is really strong it didn't used to be that strong. I could do a video showing the symptoms but idk if i could upload it. yes it has a 2 bolt valve cover

Gee I find without doing a valve lash adjustment, I can't get a carb dialed in. Hard hot starts points to valves.

Alright I'll work on them today. It's been a while since they were adjusted. What do you all think I should set them at? 004 or just go by what's on the tag.

On the tag it says valve clearance 0.08- 0.10 mm For what it's worth . . aluminum beverage can sidewall thickness is around .0035 inches (0.09 mm).

The exhaust valve is so tight I couldn't even get a 002 gauge under it. The intake was set at 003 right on not to tight or to loose.

i think you may want to do a compression test but do it the ez way remove the variator cover and turn the motor over by hand. you should feel some very strong resistance on the compression stroke. if you don't you may need a valve grind

It has good resistance hard to turn over by hand. Seems to have power but I think it's lacking in the high rpm rang just feels like it's nothing there once you get to 6000 rpm. But low rang seems strong kinda throws u back when u hit the gas. But I'll do a compression test with a gauge to be sure
