I'm making up new battery cables for the starter now. The factory cables are a joke, 12 gauge wire for a starter motor? this starter pulls easily as much current as any lawn and garden starter, and they are usually 6 gauge, that might be the reason so many fail, they can't pull the current needed to operate properly. The starter is here, the new stator will be here tomorrow, I'm supposed to ride this 100 miles on Friday, it better run, I've replaced about everything. Eventually I'l go to an 11 pole 3 phase stator and regulator and all new charging system wiring. The chinese love their undersize wires and plumbing solder connections

not really, acid core solder and flux eats the dam wire, that's why you aren't supposed to use it for electrical connections, it's for pipes. where the end of the wire was, is usually a powdery green mess

Lostforawhile,
Yeah, it's amazing how light-duty much of the Chinese wiring is! Likely a cause of some of their numerous problems. I'll bet the newest models may have better quality. Any wiring I change out gets the heavy-duty treatment too. Good idea! And yeah, you need to use rosin-core solder for electrical connections for sure.
Sure hope you get it running right. Sounds like a good ride coming up!
Ride safe!

amazon screwed up my order, so the ride is off, I won't get a stator in time. I have to ride with someone else in one of the cars, the scooter will start now with not even one revolution, but no power for the lights or battery charge.
