akais I just opened her back up, Impeller and seal are making great contact with each other. Can see the seal being moved in while i put the impeller on. Then you will have to look at the rubber bellows on the seal to make sure that is not split or detached because coolant can leak in there too. You didn't happen to start the engine dry (without coolant)? I read on one board that those seals can be ruined by running them dry for less than 30 seconds.

No i didnt, could it perhaps be because i am using 50/50 coolant and its to thin? its not a very fast leak. Do these seals need to break in? I also noticed that the fan is not kicking on. I know the fan works as i have jumped it already and it kicks on. I will be ordering a switch to replace that. Do you know if the coolant will leak when i change that switch?

You should use 50/50 antifreeze and the fan not working may be why the engine got so hot. I don't know where the switch is located so I don't know how much coolant will leak out when you change it. My mechanical seal was not leaking bad, my oil seal was. After I changed them both, I have not seen anything leaking out of the weep hole. I would not expect to see any out of yours either. AFAIK they do not need to break in

A bad oil seal will not cause a coolant leak. I was just trying to demonstrate that only oil or coolant can come out of that hole, and whatever it is, that's the seal that's bad. In your case its the mechanical seal, in my case it was the oil seal.
