akais Do you have a real honda reflex or do you have the chinese knock off engine? I am just wondering about the weep hole. I dont have the water pump removed yet but the weep hole on the block isnt as big as this 10-32 machine screw. Also does the weep hole on the bottom of the block have to line up with the weep hole on the pump?

Also does the weep hole on the bottom of the block have to line up with the weep hole on the pump? I have a real Honda Reflex. It has the horizontal water cooled engine. The weep hole is very small. On mine, actually the oil seal went bad and it was leaking oil/antifreeze mixture out of the weep hole. From what I understand, mechanical seals are actually expected to leak slightly. That's why the weep hole is there. It is only supposed to be a few drops over a long period of time. There is a mark that you line up on the edge of the pump housing and the side of the block. That will line up the weep hole with the hole in the side of the water pump housing. Do you have a clone? I assume if you do then it is a clone of the vertical Helix engine. That's what those parts are for. The Linhai engine has a different water pump altogether. I don't think it has a mechanical seal in it.

akais Yes its a clone, I believe i have the cf250, I am not sure if you have the cf250 or the cn250. My engine code just says 172mm. I have a vertical. Is the linhai also vertical?

The Linhai/Vog engine is a horizontal 260CC engine. It is supposed to be a clone of the 250CC Majesty engine. The water pump is more like a automotive water pump. You have a clone of the Honda Helix engine. As far as I know the Chinese never cloned the Reflex style engine. I watched a video of your engine and it is totally different from the Reflex. There is no aluminum housing for your water pump. Your pump housing is actually the engine block so the instructions I posted will actually not work. Here is the actual procedure: CF250 waterpump proceedure

Apparently the engine i have is a clone of the Honda Helix, not the honda reflex.

Well after rebuilding THE Water pump is still leaking coolant from the weep hole. Anyone got any suggestions? Superjew78, Man that is a real bummer! The only thing it could be is something wrong with the mechanical seal. That is what keeps the coolant away from the shaft area of the water pump. the coolant would have to get into the shaft area to leak out of the weep hole. The mechanical seal has 2 components, the seal itself and the ceramic ring that goes on the back side of the impeller. The spring in the seal pushes the ceramic surface of the seal against the ceramic ring on the back of the impeller and that's what keeps the coolant out of the weep hole. A small amount of coolant will get by the seal and that's why the hole is there to let that escape. Are you sure when you put the seal in the engine casting and screwed the impeller on the shaft, the backside of the impeller was contacting the seal surface?

Maybe try the old impeller just to make sure they are the same thread and shaft size. I found another walkthrough on the old board where the OP had the same problem with I think the same scooter as yours link

It probably is the right impeller, you're going to need to pull that cover back off and see what is going on. It could be a defective seal, if the rubber part of the seal is torn or not glued down, that will cause it to leak as well.

I just hate having to do that. still not sure why it is getting so hot so fast though. The temperature gauge show all the way past the H. I think i burped it right.
