I hate how this thing launches. It's like the clutch slips a lot when you take off hard. My wife's scooter is bone stock and I love how it launches. It feels like it slips briefly then has some what of a sling effect. I'm still playing with all this stuff but afraid to take the clutch nut off again until I get a replacement. I'm afraid the threads will strip out of the nut and I'm screwed

The clutch and bell are new. I was wondering if maybe it takes some miles before they get broke in. It's supposed to be a racing clutch. I got it from parts for scooters along with a fancy looking bell. The clutches came with blue springs on them so I just left it set up like it was. It has about 75 miles on the clutch now.

As long as you start the nut buy hand and don't go crazy with the torque it will last a good long time You are using good tight fitting sockets yes? Or are you referring to the big thin brass nut holding the torque Spring. Because that one is fussy and needs care when applying I'm referring to the big nut holding the torque spring. I've only had it off once but when I took it off the threads looked bad. I honestly wasn't sure it was going to go back on and tighten up but it did. Now I'm afraid to take it back off.

The racing clutch that most sell is just a stock clutch with a shine If you want to get serious about your scoot and get real improvement get a good scale at least as accurate a gram
Trimming the clutch weights is a far more reliable way to raise the RPM of the clutch grab than the playing the eBay lottery Hoping to get good quality springs. I have three different colors sets of spring sitting in box with identical to stock strength Big wast of time and money
Oh and I recommend not trusting that big brass nut if it's been mucked up A hole new stock clutch is like 30$

You see in my Ankle biter thread I purchased a simple dope scale from the local head shop to weigh all my Rollers and there combinations..

I have good scales. Probably a lot more accurate than I would ever need for my new scooter obsession. I have a lot of different scales that I measure grains of powder with for reloading. I haven't read or seen anything about trimming clutch weights but I will try to research that. I try to stay away from eBay parts and bought all my stuff from a dedicated scooter parts store in hopes of getting decent quality. I stuck with the same brand(hoca) for the clutch , clutch springs and torque springs. I know sometimes sticking with same brands of individual parts actually work better but maybe it's not the case here. Is hoca a junk brand? I read several places that dr pulley made a good variator and weights. Is there something else or another brand I should switch too? I'm also running a stock belt. It's an 835 and says bando on it. Should I upgrade the belt and if so do you guys have a recommendation?

I put the 11g sliders in today and it does launch a little better. Still need to look in to trimming the clutch weights but if I don't find anything I might just throw the red springs or yellow springs in to see what happens. I'm launching at about 5700rpm now.

I don't know for sure about Hoca but it seems to be at least one step ahead of stock My guess would be stock parts that have been cleaned up balanced and some what upgraded If you want the real shic slit check out PASSWORD.JDM Some of that stuff is drool worthy I personally believe that this is the best ankle biter drive pulley on the market passwordjdm.com/PasswordJDM-GY6-Power-Pulley-Type-I-P8762C483.aspx
