Good day.
I'm new here, I found this board and it seems the proper place to be :-) My daughter has a Yamaha neo's, about 7 or 8 years old with 10 000 kilometres on the clock. Recently she hit a root and broke the exhaust, it had a tear in it. So I went online and found a second hand one that fitted. It wasn't exactly the same, but still... Now she has a scooter that runs at about the same speed on the flat, but going up a hill it is very slow.
Where should I begin looking for the reason(s)? * Is the replacement so old that it is clogged up? * Although it fitted, it looked the same, had the correct bolt holes in the correct position, it wasn't exactly the same. The rubber hose that fits to the exhaust came from a different position. Is this the problem? * The hole at the end of the exhaust is larger than the original.
Eagerly awaiting any advice.

Clogged Exhaust Port or Pipe is Common on Small Two Smokers. I would say the Pipe is Clogged some or something similar causing a Heavily Restrictive Pipe. If the thing has a Center Stand, Drop the Pipe just Down from the Exhaust Port and see if She Revs up fine if so Its the Pipe. Just do that n the Center Stand, Do Not ride the Scoot with the Pipe dropped down or off. Take and Post some Pictures . Good Luck.

Thanks pistonguy for the quick response. Will try asap, it will take a couple of days, though, it gets used each day I tend to suspect the exhaust, as it was fine, then I changed the exhaust, after that it was slow on the hills. Is there anything one can do with a clogged exhaust? Or is it junk?

I've seen and heard guys plug up the exit and use kerosene to slosh around inside to dissolve the cake
