My 07 Jonway had a much faster takeoff than my 04 Reflex, & since I no longer own the Jonway I couldn't check the variator weights. And having spent many hundreds just to get the Reflex back on the road I didn't want to spend more on the k-mod. Research told me that the Reflex came stock with 31g & 21g weights totaling 156g.
I ordered a set of 18g from eBay and begin to test them out. With my stock setup I started out slow but the scooter would top out at roughly 80mph as verified by my Garmin. Next I tried 31g & 18g totaling 147g, the scooter started out faster but my top end was roughly 64.84mph and my rpm's were in the red @ 8k.
Next I tried 21g & 21g totaling 126g, it started out faster & my top end was 68.62mph & my rpm's were at a constant 7k. This is the setup I'm going to stick with for awhile. My son and I have a ride planned in 2 weeks and I'll get some real world results from that ride.
ps: Just wanted to add, I'm 6'4, and weigh 295lbs. I rode the scooter on a one mile stretch of road with a slight hill. I'm sure that it could hit 70+ with this setup and I'm hoping to find out on the road trip.

It got rid of the 30-40 mph lag but the rollers are only 19grams. It accelerates fast but tops out just over 70. I think I want to try 21 gram Dr. Pulley sliders.

i found that six 20 gram rollers worked pretty good for my 244. from the line performance was reasonable, but i did notice i had a bit more acceleration at round top end. my best guess at my top end was somewhere between 70-75MPH. gas mileage with this setup was around 52mpg. no other mods. (drilled holes in CVT cover for ventilation)

Dollartwentyfive, Is that on a Reflex with a stock ramp face? My mileage is also just over 50 mpg while others report 65 to 70 mpg with the stock rollers. From a standing start mine revs to 6000 and then drops back to 5500 until the variator maxes out and then it will climb up to about 7500 at 75 indicated, 72 gps. I would like to sacrifice a little acceleration to hopefully gain back some mpg and top speed. That's why I would like to try sliders. I have heard that running 22 gram sliders, bumping the main jet up a notch, and putting a Polini blue spring in the driven pulley will make it seem like you added 100cc to the Reflex.

Dollartwentyfive, Is that on a Reflex with a stock ramp face? it's a chinese bike. yes the entire variator was stock after changing to the 20 gram rollers, mine did the same thing. it would rev to a high RPM, then gradually fall back to a lower RPM, then slowly start climbing again until top end. the OEM rollers didn't do that, the engine quickly went to a high RPM and pretty well stayed there. i tried raising the needle a notch, but it resulted in poor performance.

50 mpg is very poor something is wrong with the bike My johnway gets mid 80s mpg and only revs 6000 @ 70mph Top end is about 87 with a passenger . without That's mostly stock

akais, yes I'm using the stock Reflex variator with no modification done to it. Maxtera, With the stock variator face you are probably not compressing it all the way so your top speed will be lower. The other problem with the stock face is the short ramps will cause the variator to compress prematurely which won't allow the engine to get to its maximum power. That's probably why it seems slower than your other scooter. Replace the face with a big ruckus face 22130-KFG-640 $32.28 on Partzilla. With your 21 gram rollers, you should still accelerate and get to your original 80MPH top speed.
