My wife and I were scooting along Indian River Drive in Jensen Beach today and saw a 2008 QLink Commuter with 20,000 miles on it (the sign said) - black - 244cc engine - some damage to plastics on right side. Guy wants $500. I thought it was a Honda Helix at first... Just thought some of you might want to know... Didn't take a picture because I am dim - however, it looked like this:

The fact that it has 20k miles on it means it has been ridden and enjoyed. Be wary of 5 year old scooters with only a few hundred miles. They have likely given the owner a lot of ptoblems.

Or they could have owners that only drive when the weather is good because they're not very experienced drivers. Plus maybe couldn't ride for long stretches because of various medical issues plus a workman's comp knee issue. Yet the bikes have been maintained and taken care of, despite being 10+ years old with only a couple-some thousand miles on the odo. >'Kat

Low miles because of an occasional rider may be true if it is a Vespa or Piaggio. Less likely in the case of mainland Chinese scooter.

I have had good luck with mine. At 20,000 miles most of the bugs have been worked out. It may look like a Helix but the key to success will be judicious use of throttle. Mine lives because I keep it under 64 mph. Chinese metallurgy is not up to hard use.

I'd just like to get up to a reliable 60 mph...
