Hey, ya'll. I'm having a no spark issue. Here's what I know : There is 50+V in the red wire, when I crank it. There is 2+ V in the pickup wire. The black wire grounds only when I turn the key, or hit the shut off switch.
I tried 3 CDI. I even cut the connectors off, and hard wired one of the CDI with a pig tail.
CDI is grounded. Tried 2 ignition coils.
What the heck is going on here?

For testing purposes . . might try disconnecting the CDI ground wire.

I removed all connectors on wires going to CDI, and put new connectors on. Replaced the pickup coil, and it runs. I don't know which it was, but I suspect the connections.

the pick up coil grounds where it mounts. Dismounting and reinstalling could have made the difference.
