.... You shouldn't be proud of being able to haul 24 bottles of beer What? You don't need to do a Beer Run? Old picture -- I can carry two cases, I now have luggage racks front and rear. Do you don't drink, or is it that you use your Hamster Cage for carrying groceries? I don't drink. I don't have a vehicle yet. I use public transportation right now for everything. I will continue to use public transportation for groceries and for appointments when the weather is bad. On nice days I will use my moped to go places.

A small toolbox is mucho better looking than a milk crate which is hillbilly looking.

Is that why you use a scooter? Nope, just pokin' the bear... A sign that common sense is still going down the gutter.

I'm proud to haul 24 bottles of beer, 18 outside of me and 6 inside of me... Is that why you use a scooter?

I see it all the time and it looks ridiculous....
Your opinion doesn't mean squat. I have a $4,599 MSRP Vespa. I have a $25 Rubbermaid 8 gallon Actionpack box.
I did not buy for a scooter for fun. I bought the scooter for transportation. I got the Vespa because I expect it to last at least 10 years / 80,000 miles. My Scooter is a shopping cart. I can stash 30 pounds of groceries in the lockable tail box, more under the seat, and I now have a front rack so I can carry case of 24 bottles of beer foreward. And neither does your opinion. You shouldn't be proud of being able to haul 24 bottles of beer.

There are many of us who stretch the budget really hard to get a top shelf scooter, and still have money left over to put gas in it to get home. I know what that feels like. The moped I chose has a MSRP of $1,355. It's going to take me all year to save up for it and the year has only started.

Why must we assume because someone buys a Honda or whatever that they are freaking Thurston Howell III? Some people save money and buy the very best they can and it leaves no money left for accessories. Riding any particular brand of scooter doesn't make one rich, it can actually just mean you're frugal... Duh but if I'm spending that kind of money on a scooter or moped I'll be damned if I'm going to put a milk crate on it. I can see using a milk crate as a temporary solution while you're replacing a broken trunk.

I just see it as if you can afford a $2,000 scooter than you can afford a $200 trunk.

I see it all the time and it looks ridiculous. People buy an expensive scooter like a Honda Ruckus or Yamaha Zuma only to do the hillbilly thing and mount a milk crate on the rack instead of a nice trunk. I can see a cheap $700 chicom scooter but a $2,200+ scooter.

The only thing required right now if you're at least 18 years old is a valid state issue ID.

Now I find it difficult to believe that I'm the one member here from Indiana.
