Update. 5 mins and cents later its running perfect. A vaccum line going to the fuel line was split and had detached. Once that was replaced it fired right up and ran fine.

I really appreciate the info. Especially the adjustment guide link. I will be working on it when I get off work and post what I find and the results. Thanks again.

I have a cheap Chinese 50 cc 4 stroke scooter. VIP made by Tao Tao that currently has about 3500km on it. It has run fine for me for the past year and a half. Regular up keep and premium fuel has made it as reliable as I could have asked for from Tao Tao. But riding it this morning it was hard to start and wanted to cut out if I didn't keep the engine reved at stoplights. Then on a straight away it started to loose power and finally just cut off.
I assume it may be carburetor or spark plug related but I really don't know. Any advice would be helpful.
