None of the movies mentioned a "Mrs Evil". Scott didn't grow on a tree.

I did get to see AJ Foyt race at Daytona in a stock car. He was running a close second to Bill Elliott in the closing laps but ran out of fuel just before the white flag. I never saw Gurney race in person.

I grew up in Georgia with no air conditioning, like most everybody else in my little town. We had no choice but to adapt to the weather. I don't like uncomfortable temps, but riding on two wheels is enough fun to keep my mind off the elements, within limits. -I blame the decline in motorcycle sales on video games. The younger people and a lot of adults would rather play a video game than ride a motorcycle or scoot on a twisty county road.

Angel Sampey dominated pro stock bike for a few years on her suzuki. Seems like the Harleys took over after her retirement. -I like watching the Top Fuel Harleys. Besides being faster, they have a raw, hot rod appearance. The goodies were covered up by a lot of smooth body work in Pro Stock Bike.

"I saw this guy in Rockingham at the all American Fuel Drags." Indian should compete with Harley in NHRA drag racing. Harley dominated Pro Stock Bike so completely, that NHRA replaced it with an all Harley nitro burning class. In recent years, Harley/Buell engines dominated Pro Stock Bike just like the hemi engine still dominates Top Fuel Dragster and Funny Car racing.

Some manufacturers are thriving, but the industry as a whole is declining. It is easy to blame millennials, but its hard to buy a nice bike while paying huge college loans back. This writer at the AMA is calling for all out evangelism. Invite your friends to join you on a ride or to attend motorcycle events. It sounds like a good strategy for off road riding. -I am hesitant to goad a friend or co-worker to join the world of street riding. They could lose their life on our crazy roads with crazy traffic. Street riding is not for everybody. www.americanmotorcyclist.com/Home/News-Story/advocating-for-motorcyclings-future

You have a very thoughtful brother, Kat. Last Jedi may not have lived up to expectations, but it was far better than Rogue One.

I read a little more about Gurney. He won races in the Formula One, Indy Car, NASCAR, Can-Am, and Trans-Am Series. Can you name another driver that has even qualified successfully for a race in all those series? -The Trans-Am series was my favorite. Camaros, Mustangs, Challengers, Cudas, AMC Javelins. Those cars made it more interesting than Nascar, IMHO.

I think Gurney is the only driver to win a Formula 1 race in a car that he constructed himself. He is certainly one of the most influential American racers of the 20th century. Rest well and thank you for a job well done, Dan Gurney.
