I just had the fuel tank off, removed the vacum petcock and cleaned the filter while performing maintenance. still has the hard start after sitting problem. might look into changing vacum petcock.

Battery is good, it does get trickle charged if left sitting. Valves were just adjusted last week, new spark plug also. Under the tank is a vacum activated fuel shutoff, tank is high up under the luggage rack and gravity feeds, don't have any pump. My thoughts were possibly T a bulb of some sort vacum bulb in like a boat uses to prime the carb. Carb might have been replaced but it doesn't have a manual choke, does have an electical connection which must be an enrichener.

If i park my scooter and don't start it for a couple of weeks I have to spin it over quite a few times before it will start. It seems to me the fuel bowl is going dry and the fuel won't fill the bowl as it takes pulsing vacum to open the fuel shutoff on the bottom of the tank. if I use the scooter regularly there is no problem. Anyone have this problem? Is there a fix? My scooter isn't a daily ride, I use it on weekends only and not every weekend.

My fuel sending unit in the tank is NG and needs replacing. Where's the best place to find a replacement?

Removed cover and starter drive. Clened and lubed drive and blew out belt dust, pretty minimal. Lubed kick start and reassembled. Starter works every time now. Thanks for the info. This is my first venture into Chinese scooter world, these things are pretty cool, just a little too much plastic.

OK, I used a mirror and looked at the bottom of the carb. There's a nipple on the bottom of the carb with nothing on it. Next to it on the fuel bowl is a brass screw which must be the fuel drain screw. I have a feeling the carb might have been replaced.

Where on the carb does it connect to? It has a hose on the back of it but the end isn't connected to anything.

The other end of the hose isn't attached to anything, where should it go to? The charcoal cannister is where I'm guessing but it's broken and just hanging by a wire tie.

Sorry about the previous failed attempt. It's the piece below the clamp with the brass screw. The hose attaches at the back behind the screw. Attachments:

Once in a while the starter just spins but doesn't turn the motor over. Is there a replaceable bendix drive in the starter? If so where do you get one? It's a 50cc Gator.

There's an aluminum part that is held by a bolt at the bottom of the engine. it has a small diameter hose going to it and it has what looks to be some sort of adjustment screw in it. The hose isn't connected to anything, possibly belongs on the charcoal cannister which is broken.
