Hey guys. So I'm a rookie when it comes to small engines. Everything I know I've learnt in the last year or so by teaching myself through trial and error and YouTube and other forum threads. All my friends bring there scooters to me when something small breaks down and it's kinda become a hobby/side hustle. I've grown to love working on scooters. So when it came time to try and do a 100cc BBK on a 50cc TaoTao pony. I was a little intimidated but I did a ton of research and studying to ensure I go into the install with the ability to make it work. Boy was I wrong. Seems that the first go around I was so misinformed by the misinfkrmsď. First it was the ring gaps needing to be in the right places around the piston. Then it was the timing. Which I think I might still be messing up. Cause no matter what I do. I can't seem to get the T mark on the magneto to sit right with the mark on the engine to put the piston at TDC. It always kinda springs past the mark or sits behind it. I don't understand how to get it to sit flush. And I've tried 4 different times with 2 different engines. When I'm finished. Neither start. So I got a compression test and one engine is at 30psi and the other is at 70 psi. I swear I've tried everything. I can't even tell you how frustrating it is to have 2 scooters not running now because I Bite off more then I can chew. Can someone please bail me out. I know it's probably something simple I must be messing up or missing completely. In the mean time I guess I'll just keep tinkering with it and trying different ideas I come across on other people's threads. Thanks guys.
